KC Mavericks vs. Allen Americans - 02.25.2026
INDEPENDENCE, MO. — The Kansas City Mavericks defeated the Allen Americans 4-3 on Wednesday night at Cable Dahmer Arena.
Kansas City scored twice on the power play and held off a late push from Allen to secure the one-goal victory.
The Mavericks opened the scoring at 4:06 of the first period when Jackson Jutting (9) netted his 23rd goal of the season with the man advantage. Allen tied it later in the period on a power-play goal by Ty Prefontaine (8), sending the game into the first intermission even at 1-1.
Kansas City took control in the second. Casey Carreau (22) scored at 9:47 to give the Mavericks a 2-1 lead, and Landon McCallum (11) added a power-play goal at 15:41 to extend the lead to 3-1.
Allen responded in the third period. Jake Chiasson (11) cut the deficit to 3-2 at 5:38, but Marcus Crawford (15) answered less than four minutes later to restore a two-goal lead. Sam Stange (44) scored at 16:02 to pull Allen within one goal, but Kansas City held on.
Crawford, McCallum and Jutting each recorded a goal and an assist for the Mavericks.
Dylan Wells (40) made 30 saves on 33 shots for Kansas City. Allen outshot the Mavericks 33-24. Kansas City finished 2-for-5 on the power play, while Allen went 1-for-6.
The Mavericks and Americans will face off again on Friday, Feb. 27 at Cable Dahmer Arena for the second game of the series.
